RU Bell

 Rufus Bell AKA “RU Bell” was born and raised on the southwest side of Atlanta, Georgia (SWATs). RU Bell is the youngest and the only boy of four children. At the age of six he was apart of his elementary school band and chorus where he discovered his love of music. As RU Bell became older he focused more on playing the drums, trumpet and learning to read music. By the time RU Bell reached age 13 he decided that he wanted to attend a high school that would give him a better understanding of music. He decided to attend North Atlanta High School of  Performing Arts, where he spent most of his time in the band room learning to play different instruments and how to write music.

Upon graduation from North Atlanta High School RU Bell wanted to pursue a career in music production. He enrolled in Atlanta Metropolitan College in pursuit of a B.A. in Music Production. During his studies at Atlanta Metropolitan College a couple of his friend introduced him to his future wife Avery “Nikki” Gaston. RU Bell wanted to slow down his pursuit of a career in music production after becoming a husband and a father.

In 2001 RU Bell and his wife Nikki formed B.I.G. Entertainment later he enrolled into the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in Atlanta. Shortly after enrolling RU Bell purchased  recording equipment and begin producing some unique music. He strives to create a unique sound that will be around for years to come. During his studies at the Connecticut School of Broadcasting he gained knowledge of music production, commercial production, and video production which would help B.I.G. Entertainment become a one stop media shop.

 

RU Bell’s musical influences Cameo, Rick James, Prince, Timberland, Dr. Dre, Michael Jackson, Otis Redding, Al Green, Marvin Gaye and Rodney "Dark Child" Jerkins.
